Help with Amsterdam Underground

One address, one person behind it: helpdesk@urbangamez.com.

Reporting a problem

Something stuck, something wrong, something missing? Write to helpdesk@urbangamez.com. English and Dutch are both fine.

Three things make a fault much easier to find:

  1. Which device you have — for example “iPhone 14” or “Samsung Galaxy S23”, and which version of iOS or Android is on it.
  2. Which build of the game — it is printed at the top right of the screen, see below.
  3. What you were doing when it went wrong. One sentence is enough.

There is one person behind this address, not a support department. You will get an answer, but not always the same day.

Where the version line is

While you play, a line like 0.1 b26092701 sits at the top right of the screen. It is two things:

  • 0.1 is the version number of the game.
  • b26092701 is the build number: year, month, day, and which build of that day it was. So b26092701 is the first build made on 27 September 2026.

Copy that line exactly into your message. With the build number it is possible to tell precisely which code is running on your device, which saves a lot of back and forth.

Questions that come up

I deleted the app. Is my progress gone?

Yes. Your progress — your money, your cars, your levels and your medals — is kept on your own device and nowhere else. This version has no account and no copy on a server, so there is nothing to restore. That is the same choice that means this version collects nothing about you.

Can I move my progress to another device?

Not from inside the game. Whatever your phone’s own backup takes along, it takes along; beyond that nothing is arranged.

What language is the game in?

English, and Dutch. It starts in Dutch if your phone is set to Dutch, and you can switch on the first screen or in the phone menu afterwards. The menus, the jobs, the shops, the on-screen controls and the five DJs on the car radio all change over. The street names stay Dutch in both languages, because they are the real ones.

Does a controller work?

There is controller code in the game, but it has never been tried on a phone or tablet with a controller attached. As long as that has not been measured, it is not promised here.

Can two people play together?

Not on a phone or tablet. There is code for playing together in the game, but it only switches on with a command-line flag, and a phone has no command line. The privacy page explains that difference, because it matters.

I want a refund.

That does not go through this address but through the store you bought the game from. With Apple that is reportaproblem.apple.com; with Google it is the order history in the Play Store. They made the sale, not us.

I would like the map data.

The map inside the game is a derivative database in the sense of OpenStreetMap’s Open Database License. You do not have to ask: it is ready for you under the same licence at Download the map data, with the licence text and a manifest. See also Credits.
